I love this franchise ever since I got Senran Kagura Burst on 3DS, so I'm happy it got a remake.Positive aspects:+ the combat is faster than it was in Estival Versus, which is awesome as hell+ graphics are amazing, on high settings everything looks so smooth and nice+ the stories got a nice reboot, I especially love the Hebijo side (and the endings of each)+ fights against the girls feel like REAL fights, not just "let me lock her and spam Ninja Arts until she's dead"+ Burst mode, yes it is incredibly strong but in exchange for that I felt like Ninja Arts got a big nerf, especially considering that the enemy can just jump out of them+ I love the outfits, their color options and the adjustable accessory systemNegative ones:- the DLCs... I get that they were free for a bit on release and now you gotta pay if you want to have them, but 4 to 10 Euro for one?! Come on, man.- too much Hibari, some of the girls (Ikaruga and Katsuragi e.g.) get neglected SO much... and fighting against Mirai makes me want to smash the controller into the ground sometimes- I feel like there's a LOT less to do than in Estival Versus, but I think that's mainly because there's only the Hanzo and Hebijo girls (storywise, of course you can buy almost all the other girls, but other than repeating stages you can't do much with them)- I would've wished for an option to go into Frantic automatically, the fact that you can only get into it during the start of a stage can get frustratingOverall a really good game with some minor issues and a huge paywall if you want to have additional content.It would be perfect tho if they'd make another game like EV with the graphics, combat and storytelling of Burst Re:newal. Even with the 1.03 patch claiming to fix frame rate issues, there are still numerous occasions where the frame rate will dip from 60 FPS to something closer to ~10 FPS for several seconds at a time. These can occur even when there are only one or two enemies left on the screen (on a computer that should be able to bench press this game without breaking a sweat, no less) so PC specs aren't to blame here.If they want to claim that their issues are all fixed despite the complaints of many showing that they still exist, screw 'em. Let this mess of a redux fester where it lies until you can get it on sale for $10, although even that might be too much for a game apparently coded by the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ younger brothers of the usual team. There's nothing going on in Burst Re:Newal that should warrant such a huge decline in performance compared to the earlier titles other than simple incompetence.. The cut scenes are an improvement over previous games but everything else is worse. The frame rate is all over the place and the controls feel slow and unresponsive even the textures look amateurish in some stages.Not recommended unless your already a fan of the series.
